In 2019, UUFR established a “Little Free Library,” conveniently visible from the road but set back enough to ensure safe browsing. Our goal was to provide reading material for the surrounding community, especially children. The library has been a wonderful success, with children’s books often needing restocking every couple of weeks.

For several years, UUFR members have helped keep the roads around the Fellowship clean, with organized spring and fall cleanups. Sometimes, we are joined by the Crab Point Civic Association. The great news is that the amount of litter we collect continues to decline!

UUFR has proudly hosted the Saturday breakfast during the annual Camp Kekoka Yoga Retreat for many years. Proceeds from the retreat help provide scholarships for children who wish to attend the camp, supporting access to this valuable experience.

During the Christmas season, UUFR participates in a local Community Service Board initiative to adopt one or two families at The Haven Shelter. We purchase gifts for the children and gift cards for the parents, ensuring that these families experience the joy of the season.

At UUFR, we see the pursuit of justice, equity, and human rights as a living expression of our Principles. Guided by these values, we collaborate with local organizations, participate in grassroots movements, and support initiatives addressing issues such as racism, economic inequality, LGBTQ+ rights, and environmental sustainability. We invite everyone to join us in this transformative work. Together, we can make a tangible difference and live the values at the heart of our Unitarian Universalist faith.
