Community Service

Little Free Library

UUFR set up a “Little Free Library” in 2019. It is easily visible from the road and back far enough so that it is safe for people stopping to browse. We hoped to provide reading material for the surrounding community – especially the children. It has been a great success and often the children’s books need to be restocked every couple of weeks.

Road Cleanup

We have been cleaning up the roads around the Fellowship for several years. This includes a spring and fall cleanup. We are sometimes joined in this effort by the Crab Point Civic Association. The good news is that the amount of litter we collect has continued to decline!

Yoga Breakfast

UUFR has been providing the Saturday Breakfast for the Camp Kekoka Yoga Retreat for many years. The proceeds from the Yoga Retreat help provide scholarships for the children who want to attend the camp.

Adopt a Family

At Christmas we adopt one to two families through The Haven of Community Service Boards. Gifts for the kids and gift cards for the parents are purchased and delivered.

Social Justice Activities

At UUFR, we believe that working for justice, equity, and human rights is not just an abstract concept but a tangible expression of the Principles we hold dear. These Principles guide and inspire us to collaborate with local organizations, participate in grassroots movements, and support initiatives to address issues such as racism, economic inequality, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental sustainability, and more.

We invite you to join us in this transformative work. Together, we can make a positive difference and embody the core values at the heart of our Unitarian Universalist faith.
